18th September 2021 marks the 13th Anniversary of IndianMoney.com and Today IndianMoney.com is India's Largest Financial & livelihood Education App with over 4 million users, 400 Courses in 6 Languages & 55 purpose-driven Communities.
18 months back, we were not even sure that we will get here. Our core Business vertical which we built over the last 10+ years went down from almost 5 Crore monthly revenue to Zero when the lockdown was first announced in India. That was not all, just 6 months before that we had to shut down our Insurance Broking business after losing over 15 Crore as the unit economics was not making sense.
Yes, 18 months back we were back in square one after having spent 11 years, but what we realized then made all the difference "It was not about what we built but what we learned". Taking the advantage of the situation, we could have simply shut down the company & started something fresh. We didn't do that as that would have destroyed the expectations of millions of customers, our team, our partners & most importantly our investors who trusted us all these years.
We launched Financial Freedom App leveraging all that we learned from the initial 11 years of our journey at IndianMoney.com. While providing Financial Education to millions of people all these years we realized that it's not just that people don't know to manage money, they also don't earn enough money. And the reason for not earning money is that they don't have access to Knowledge & Opportunities.
We are now back to our pre-covid position as a Business and we have achieved break even with just an 18-month-old platform. But we don't define this as our Success, we define our success based on the number of lives touched & impacted through our efforts. It feels so good to hear from thousands of our users about their Success Stories of venturing into a new business, getting back to their Farm leaving their fat pay jobs, making profits from their farm, starting a new business, reviving an ailing business, learning a new skill or practicing financial discipline. For the entire Team at IndianMoney.com, these stories are very special & we consider them as our success.
We are super excited about this journey and are committed to the cause. This anniversary is special because of another reason that Sashi Reddi Sir has taken up the role of Chairman in the company and has been a great support in building the Financial Freedom App in such a short span.
On this special occasion, I want to thank all our customers, vendors, team members, Board Members, Investors & my family for being such great support in building the Financial Freedom App. I am sure it is still the beginning and there is a lot more to accomplish to build a better, stronger Bharath.
